plateau tibia fracture w/displ fract fibula ankle

After 6 weeks on crutches, doing some physioexercises from doc since day two and slow knee bending 30-40% , no weight on the leg of course - I am wondering if these symptoms are normal and how long will they go on.1)numbness at scar sight2) tightness and some swelling around the knee 3) foot turns purple (bad circulation in the leg, some certainly understandable) when I stand up for more than 5 minutes, which I do quite a bit around the house. Should I just still be keeping the leg elevated most of the dayand stop walking around so much? i'm 53 but in decent shape - ski injury.
