pt for cp lady

Are there any contraindications for a 54 year old spastic diplegic lady to start using her exercycle in different ways?

She rides it about 4 miles a day. I have suggested she raise the seat, vary her routine by pedaling in reverse, and use the down stroke on her weak side to build muscle strength.

She has had a triple arthodesic in her left ankle. I am need assurance that I haven't encourage her to do anything to cause damage anywhere. ????
