broken wrist and elbow

I had surgery on my wrist and elbow I shattered my wrist broken the bone thats on the inside bend of my arm i have a plate rods and stuff in my arm as well as 5 screws in the place in my elbow what cream can i get to help with making my therapy easier i have alot of swelling as well as i cant straighten or bend my elbow yet my last surgery was 12/04/2008 I am in physical therapy just seems like there is something i can do to help they are getting me a brace that helps bend your arm and straighten i cant even make a fist no matter how much i work is there anything i can use to help loosen my joints so they will move better when i am doing my exercises
