hot painful feet

About 6 weeks ago I worked in my yard for 6 hours in MBT shoes. (I'd forgotten that you're supposed to work up to long term wear of these shoes with 1/2 intervals). That evening my feet ached, but when I massaged them I started something - they burned so badly I nearly went to the emergency room. Even after all this time I still have nightly pain and burning which is relieved only by diuretics and hydrocodone. The pain is now really just in one foot, but the burning goes up into my calf as well.

Do you have any idea what is causing this pain and burning?
