Pain in Rectus Femoris

Okay I thought I did this correctly the first time so if I did and my first post shows up I apologize for double posting. I have pain in my Left quad (probably the rectus femoris, I know this from anatomy class from nursing school) I let it rest for three weeks, I had a softball game were I hit an in the field home run and reinjured it... I am wondering is there a way to athletic tape your thigh so you can continue playing and also with the tape can you wear compression shorts? and if so how do you do the taping

Silicone inserts leave the epicondyle pressure-free and provide an intermittent compression to the soft tissue of the joint, leading to increased circulation, thus aiding in the resorption of swelling and edema.
