rotator cuff tear

I had my left rotator cuff repaired 1 year ago and now my right is hurting very bad. My Dr told me that I still wasn't 100% yet since I couldn't go up my back very far with my left hand. How long should I wait till I have my right shoulder fixed as well? The pain is getting to be to much.
