Stretched Pectoralis muscle

I was doing a boxing workout and I must have stretched a muscle because my right pectoral muscle has been sore ever since (3 months ago)and my breathing is heavier except for when I am exercising. How long does it take to heal, and should I lay off any exercises that involves using my pectoralis? Thanks
