ruptured hamstring grade 3

In June 2005 I ruptured my hamstring at the tendon that attaches it to my hip, below my glute. It occured in a high level football game. I was sprinting felt a cramp next stripe it snapped. Not wanting to miss snowboard season I had it surgically repaired in March 2006. I waited because I was able to walk and so forth and maybe I was being stupid. Nonetheless. We are in May 2007 now and I really want to rehab this, because I really havent gone. I am sorry. I figure I need a program with rigorous stretching. I was wondering about weight training. Should I focus on getting my hamstrings' strengh to catch up to that of my quads? I think my quads were over developed and that cause the rupture. Any help would be great. I just want to be pretty close to where I was when this occured. I am now 28. Not sure if you need anymore info.
