bruising on shin from calf injury

I felt and heard something snap in my calf while walking down the stairs. I couldn't stand or walk on that leg for two days. It's been almost a week now and I can walk almost normal. There is still soreness, but my question is that if my calf was hurt, why is my ankle and shin bruising almost up to my knee but there is no pain where the bruising is?

Inflated aircells offer comfort and graduated compression with its therapeutic benefits. Worn with a laced shoe, the Air-Stirrup restricts inversion/eversion and permits normal flexion.
