tib/fib fx

I was thrown from horse 2 wks ago,had x-ray the day after fall,neg.for fx.Had MRI of lt.knee 1wk after fall.Showed Tib/Fib Fx at top of both bones,swelling and Hemangioma.Ortho.put aleg brace designed so I can bend at knee slightly,was told to bend off and on during day and use my crutches so not to bear wt on lt leg.F/U w/him in 2 wks for fu x-ray.My concern is if it will grow back on it's own w/o surgery or hard cast and how long this will take?I will have been out of work for 3wks at fu.If x-ray did not show break at first,how will they tell now if it's growing back properly?
