Recovery from broken tibia (near ankle)

Hi, I broke my tibia about a year ago near my ankle. Though new bone has developed over the break area, I was able to begin running again with minimal discomfort. But in the past few months, a bruise has developed near my ankle / lower leg and it is painful to run or walk. I think my ankle may be slightly swollen as well.

Are there any excercises I can do to help this and aid recovery? Is this something I should be concerned about?
