Ahh, the shoulder pain of the gym rat. Most folks get shoulder pain because they do lot's of presses, bicep and shoulder cause they want their pecs to look huge. But you are neglecting those little rotator cuff muscles that want exercise too. Sounds like you have either some tendonitis or busitis. Same type of pain. You do need to rest and STOP doing upper arm exercises right now. Go to a doc and see if you can have a short course of PT to go through some rotator cuff exercises and educate you on how to lift so you don't cause muslce imbalance. Cheers!
