Wrist Fracture (Growth Plate)

My 13 year old son recently fractured his wrist during a basketball game. The growth plate in his wrist was fractured and moved out of place. He is currently in a cast. Can you tell me if he will have physicial therapy after the cast is removed? If so what type(s)of treatment/exercise can he expect, and will he have to wear a brace.
