Re: quad shut down

It depends. First of all ask you doctor if she can do "quad setting exercises" while waiting for the patella to heal.
If so, she can start tightening her thigh muscle while keeping the knee straight.
If not, you will have to wait for the bones to heel and then start a physical therapy knee strengthening program.
