fracture of the fifth metatarsal

hi there i have just had my put in a case with a detatchable heel which i can weight bear as i have been diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metatarsal which happened 5 days ago now. I am already feeling like it is nearly healed as the pain is no longer there only tenderness when tryig to weight bare. I have been told that this will be on for 5 weeks of which i dont feel is necessary as healing is rapid i can nearly walk properly unaided so do i need to keep the support on my foot or have it taken off early if i feel it is not hurting me?

The SiliposŪ Soft Sock is a two-layer sock carefully designed with a proprietary gel pad molded in between the two fabric layers at the sole to absorb and reduce friction, abrasion, shear forces, and moisture away from the foot.
