therapy is very painful

HI, can anybody tell me if athletic therapy is suppose to be painful. I have achilles tendinits and retro-calcaneal bursitis and i've been going to athletic therapy where the theraist does manual techniques, which are extremely painful. Is this going to make my conditions worse??

Anatomically knitted knee support incorporating contoured silicone insert surrounding the patella: The kinetically integrated guide counteracts lateralization of the pattella. During activity the insert not only counteracts patellar malalignment but provides intermittent compression for the reduction of swelling and edema.
