IT band syndrome

i RUN AND HAVE HAD IT BAND PROBLEMS...I ORIGINALLY INCREASED MY RUNNING AND HAD KNEE PAIN/LEG TIGHTNESS, AND RAN ON IT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS...THEN I STOIPPED RUNNING IN OCTOBER AND DID PHYS THERAPY FOR 2 MONTHS, AND DI SOME STRETCHES AND STRENGTHENING FOR MY HIP FLEXORS...I HAVE NOT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN AND HAVE BEEN DOING ELIPTICAL, ROLLING OUT MY IT BAND ON A FOAM ROLL, STRETCHING AFTER I WORK OUT, AND HAVE ONLY DONE ABOUT 15 MIN ON THE ELIPTICAL...I AM STILL HAVING SOME PAIN/TIGHTNESS AND JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS NORMAL AND I AM NOT HURTING MYSELF AGAIN...THE PHYS THERAPIST I AM SEEING DOESNT FEEL THAT THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE HE CAN DO...DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

THANKS
