Re: Torn Bicep Tendon

: : : I am in the middle of deciding if I should get the surgery or not on my bicep tendon.

: Tendon torn from elbow - what is success rate and failure rate of flexibility from surgery. And what percent come out with dropped hand sydrom from nerve damage in surgery.

Hi Im 40 yrs old. I tore my bicep (right arm at the inner elbow inner bicep) a year and a half ago. Except for a bit of sensitivity (it doesnt quite feel 100% normal) its fine. im back playing ice hockey and lifting weights. I'm not big into bodybuilding but weight train to stay in shape. I generally do barbell curls from 45lbs (bar and no plates) to 95 lbs on my last set of 6-8 reps. Supinated dumbell curls start at 25x8 to 40x6.
I warm up well (starting with 10 reps of lighter weight and work up to the (for me) heavy weights.
I did not have surgery and the only noticeable effects are the sensitivity and a slight deformity when I flex my bicep. the inner bicep slides up my arm. If I could have had surgery at the time of the injury I would have. Doctor said it was cosmetic and at my age and since I work at a desk job he said no point so i didnt. I wouldnt now because I dont want to be casted for 6 months and start over.

look forward to hearing back from your experience.
