Re: Brostrom Ankle Ligament Repair

I had the operation just over a year ago (Gould modified, if I'm not mistaken). Ankle was immobilized for six weeks; three in an open front cast and three in a full cast. When the cast was removed I was given an "Aircast". It took me about two weeks to rehabilitate my calf muscle so that I could walk near naturally. I could then drive. Another four weeks saw me walking quite naturally and I had gathered most of the lost muscle mass. NB we have stick shift and my left ankle was repaired.
