Partial tear in the ACL

I just got my arthroscopy results

the findings are
1) partial tear in the ACL
2) Complex tear of Lateral meniscus extending from AH to middle third

It has been recommended that reconstruction should not be done and that I should build the surrounding muscles, however after researching into this I am concerned how this will impact my activities. Sorry to trouble you but my surgeon was not there to explain anything to me after the op and I don't see anyone for over a week now

Many thanks for any info!!!
