Re: heel pain

: hello someone. I have heel pain. right heel mostly on the outside..and only when I do the yoga pose "downward facing dog" or a forward bend..anything that pulls at that part of the heel..doesn't fit I don't think with any of what Ihave found on line as a medical condition..don't know how I caused it and don't know how to get rid of it! help?

Hi, I'm in a similar dilemma - down dog is
impossible, shooting pains in the left heel - my research tells me this is a case of plantar fasciitis - down dog and forward bends stretch the achilles tendon, which extends under the heel ... which is where the pain originates. Good source of info is www.foottalk.com/heelpain.htm

good luck! Daily stretching and foot workouts are the best, least painful or expensive, first step. (ouch)
