Re: Broken left humerus
I broke my left humerus clean in half on 24th Sept 2007. After 8 weeks in hanging plaster, I had that removed due to possible damage to my elbow. I have been in a brace ever since. (now 18 weeks).
I have re-gained some strength in my left arm, I can hold a bag of light shopping, but movement of the whole arm is limited. My arm hangs but will not straighten at the elbow. My shoulder is agony (I guess from holding it at a funny angle all the time).
One side of the bone appears to be healing, but not the other. The problem is that the bones are not in alignment, but the doctor said that wouldnt be a problems. I still feel the bones clicking together when I move.
I'm losing patience now, as is my family who have lost their taxi service, chief cook and bottle washer. Not to mention the weight I have put on due to lack of exercise.
Does anyone know if it is normal for healing to take such a long time?
