Its been seven months since I first got hurt. I went from being stuck in bed to useing crutches that just about killed me, then safely moving on to a wheel chair were I stayed for a few months until the Doctor finally put me in a walking boot. Started with the walking boot in Nov 2005 and I'm slowly working myself out of the boot. Saw the surgeon yesterday 3-28-06 they said I'm healing great and I now have a few exercises that I do everyday along with taking my walks with my little Grandbaby. I have a lot of stiffiness in my foot and ankle and from being in the boot so long i have lost just about all my leg muscles,I still have a burning feeling on the inside of my right foot and some pretty sharp stabbing pains that run from my heel to my ankle yet and numbiness in differant parts of my foot. The cold weather really causes me to have a lot of pain in my foot when that happens I get out the heating pad a wrap my foot up until its warms up enough to stop hurting. When I walk in my sneaks I feel like my balance is off.The Doctors wants me to get special soles made up for my shoes but since i dont have insurance thats not about to happen. I'm pleased to say that 7 months have made a real differance in my recovery and I can see some light at the end of the road now. nana niles
