Re: broken heel bone recovery

I was wondering did you have the surgery? I will attempt to attach my correspondance with another heel injury but if its not hear i can email it when i hear back from you.....newbie u know! The best stretch I’ve found so far……and believe me, its hard to find out what you should be doing to get the best results fast, is to stand and face the wall with hands on it but the injuried foot behind the other and slowly lift it up and down……the first few times I did this, the calf tendon like to have popped…..it was so tight…..other than that I’ve just always tried to move it…..range of motion…….I did go to a massage therapist (all we have here) and that did help a lot at first as I had ribs and a shoulder blade as well as the top bones of one foot and the heel of the other……what is Fosamax? Also, have you been to a podiatrist….other a bone spesensoredt or what…..my doctor is one of only 2 in town and is quite busy with ALL bones so I was thinking maybe a foot spesensoredt…..so thought I’d ask you who you’ve seen. I decided not to have the surgery on my heel as it was to take the same amount of time to heal either way, I felt the surgery had other risk I wasn’t willing to take.

- I am planning to get physicall therapy because of the tightness thing. i moved into a new house, broke my toe the first day, broke my arm (falling off my bike) the next week and just about the time it healed, broke my foot falling out of a cheap pair of second-hand platform shoes while walking downstairs. pretty dumb. I've started on Fosamax for obvious reasons. Thank god for my two kittens. They've saved my sanity. Do you know any exercises that can help with flexibility? karen
-i went online and found me a movers dolly…….put a stool on it and it rolls much better……I also bought a mini moxie scooter for $800 that gets thru any doorway I have goes up to 4 miles per hour and 6-8 miles without a charge……..that was the best investment I have ever made and still use it to take my dog walking….which she loves……..
At any rate, I’m now walking with a cane….short distances….however foot still swells and its hard to describe but it feels like the tendons or muscles get drawn TIGHT around the ankle or drawing the toes under and I have to sit down do range of motion and attempt again…….but I always seem to limp and have pain. I may be further along than you and if so, want to share with you what I’ve found that helps…..anyway let me know about your mobility/concerns/accident, etc….
Thanks for writiting, and how did I get hooked up with you…..i’ve tried locating someone for sometime in this condition…..maybe someone’s looking out for me from above?

An ideal cushion to help preserve metatarsal phallangeal joint alignment (e.g. bunion deformity and post-operative toe drift).
