BTW, I too have had my hand allergies for over 30 years, weird but they only effect my hands. My daughter has had her ear canal rash for the last 8 years, she's 13. Ours are mostly internal allergies, we've been tested with an allergist ie: things we eat, I know this for a fact, I will wake up in the middle of the night itching to death I think, scratching my hands off, my daughter? scratches her ears intensely.........Allergies internal or external, can appear at any time in your life.......so that is the hard part, but when you are older, they stay with you for life, so far as I have dealt with, oats for me, sometimes you dont' realize cereal has oats and I know when I've had something I'm allergic too, whether something on the list I'm aware of, or something new. Some remedies do help becuase the allergy doesnt' last forever and eventually will subside anyway, but ice packs, cools showers, meds, whatever, can help until the allergy subsides.......
