I have had severe neck pain for 8 months. It causes headaches and earaches, etc. I got an MRI this week.

Can you translate the following report in a fashion that makes sense to a non-medical person???

There is a disc desiccation with circumferential bulging and osteophyto formation from the endplates and degenerative endplate changes C3-4 through C6-7 level most severely at the C-5-6 level. There is mild grade 1 retrolisthensis of C5 over C6 likely related to degenerative change. Spondylotic change causes right C4-5 and bilateral C5-6 foraminal stenosis more severely on the left.

Spine, craniocervical junction, unenhanced appearance spinal cord, and paraspinal region are otherwise unremarkable. The disc levels are otherwise unremarkable. No focal posterior disc herniation, other central, foraminal stenosis or neural impingement.

Impression degenerative disc disease and spondylotic change causing foraminal stenosis and nerve root impingement as described.

Thanks!!!
