Disc abmormalities in L5-S1 region

I am suffering from back pain and also feeling pain in upper side of two legs also for eight months. MRI reports noted that disc desiccation and bulge in L5-S1 region without affecting the nerve tracts or not narrowing the canal, other portio of the vertbral column is normal. I am a student and have to move daily for my studies. I am really worried wheather it will be OK or not. I have consulted with orthopadics and sometimes applied pain killer tablet to remove the pains . Please give your opinion or suggessions.
Thank you.
