satorius muscle?/ related to herniated disc?

I have had a herniated disc for about 5 years now. The pain comes and goes, and basically I have learned to deal with it. Approximately 3 weeks ago, I woke up with pain on the top of my hip bone. As the week progressed, I could barely walk it hurt so bad. I made an appointment with my doctor, and we came to the conclusion, I must have torn my sartorius muscle somehow. ( x-ray came back okay ) My hip is still bothering me though not as bad, however my back is really bothering me as it used to, and both of my hips actually hurt. Can this be related to the herniated disc, and should I be seen again, or just see if it goes away?
