Low back pain wakes me up

Hello Dr. Bunting,

For about three weeks, I have been waking up at 4:30 AM with low back pain. It is bad enough where I have to get out of bed and it goes away completely within 20-30 minutes. I am 38 years old, in good overall health and I sleep on a medium-firm, pillow top mattress. However, I am a pet sitter and several times a month, I sleep at different clients homes overnight, so I do not sleep in the same bed consistently. This month I slept on a futon for two nights and the second night I did not have the pain when I woke up. I'm wondering if buying a futon would eliminate the problem. I had been practicing Bikram (hot room) Yoga for a year, up until about 6 months ago when I got a calf injury and my PT is about to give me permission to start again. What is your advice? Thank you.
