Sciatica problem with no back problems or pain???

I have a weird problem. Been to the Dr. and he has scheduled me for a lower lumbar MRI. BUT... My right let is feeling numb including my little toe and the two right next to it. I don't have reflexes in the knee or ankle. I can't lift up or push off on my right foot. I feel better standing and walking. Lying down I'm not in any discomfort at all. Sitting is bothersome. It feels like I have a huge knotted up wad of muscle or something deep in my right butt cheek. Of course while I'm waiting for the MRI I'm searching the internet and getting confused. I have ZERO back pain. Haven't had any forever. But everything says my symptoms are related to S1 L5 lumar disc. And I'm really not in any pain as I would describe pain. Just the numbness and the knotted feeling. Anybody ever hear of anything like this?? It's been going on since May 11 when I ended up in a stop and go traffic jam for 7 hours with my foot on the brake.
