neck injury &finger tingling

Hi there.Last month I slipped on some ice and fell backwards hitting my head on my truck running board.I hit at the base of my skull where there the base of the skull meets the neck.I went to the Doc. due to headaches I was having and they took an xrays just to make sure I didnt have a fracture in that area and concern about my spine.I had no neurological signs of problems and was told the headaches in that area and strain may last awhile. It's been since Jan.26th and I'm still having a pain and strain particularly when in bed lying on my back and now I have some tingling in my fingertips.Could a chiropractor help in a diagnosis and treatment or a med.dr? Thanks
