Should I be bruising?

My sister has been seeing a chiropractor for around 3 weeks, 2-3 times a week, schedule permitting. She said that this last visit wasn't painful until after the fact. She has some dark bruising around her spine. I am aware that she may be sore after the visit but I wondered if bruising was normal?
