6 lower lumbar

I have six lower lumbar vertebrae. I am 51 and have been suffering with this periodic pain since I was 39. I can go up to several months without an incident, but the its not a question of IF it will happen, but when.
Often I will do something to it and the realization of that activity and the ensuing pain will arrive up to two days later. Chiroprator says that the damage is all muscular. Xrays have shown no collapsed discs and no bone damage. Besides Ibuprofen on massive unrecommended dosages and excersing on a bicycle, there is nothing else that helps.

Any ideas?
