Chronic lower back sprain

I've been seeing a chiropractor for 7 months. It has gotten a lot better but I would think that at 7 months I should be "healed". I'm 27 and still really scared I feel as though my life as I knew it was over and I'm going to have to live in chronic pain forever. Am I being silly? I have gotten MRIs and they are clean. My GP suggested a chiropractor. How long do these things take?
