Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy?

After an MRI scan the report says "facet joint ligamentum flavum mild hypertrophy L3 -L5". The trainee doc who reviewed this is a moron who didnt answer my questions.

Basically i need to know:
1) layman explanation of this diagnosis.
2) What are the consequences of this injury.
3) How to heal / speed up healing process?
4) How long does it take to heal?

Helps strengthen the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and erosion of the under surface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of the quadriceps (Q-angle).
